Mermaid Modern
"Mermaid Modern" is the most recent branding style and guide line created for the Mermaids. This style should be used for any events or graphics under the "Mermaids" umbrella. Shows have a different branding guide line which can be found below.
02
Modern Style
Official Name: Our official name is "Mermaids: The University of St Andrews Performing Arts Fund".
Preferred Name: Our preferred name in most settings is: "Mermaids Performing Arts Fund"
Short Name: Our short name is: "Mermaids"
Use of Names: Our preferred name should be used in most settings, including on show graphics (Mermaids Performing Arts Fund Presents). Our Official name should only be used in formal documents such as the Constitution or contracts. Our short name should be used only certain instances such as in sub-brands (Mermaids Engagements, Mermaids Spring 2025 Season, etc). If you are unsure which name to use, please consult the Marketing Officer.
Position & Typeface: Mermaids should always be the more paramount name in the branding. It should always use our official "Playfair Display Bold" font with only the M being capital. If the preferred name is being used "Performing Arts Fund" should be position under the "Mermaids" name and should use our official "League Spartan Bold" font.

03
Modern Colours
The colours in the image located here are our official brand colours. When creating colour palates for a Mermaids event at least two of these colours should be promptly featured. Additionally, "Mermaid Sand" should be used in the place of basic white, when possible.
04
Modern Shows
We want our shows' marketing to reflect the creative and vision of the production. However, all shows must still follow a set of marketing guidelines.
Logos: Any production receiving funds from Mermaids must include the Crest logo in all graphics. Productions must always include the logo of their venue in all graphics (i.e. Barron at the Byre or Byre Theatre). Logos should also be colour coordinated with the rest of the graphic and should not look out of place. If a show is a part of the Freshers Drama Festival or Mermaids at the Fringe, those logos should be used instead of the Crest logo.
Dates: Dates of productions should also always be included in all graphics.
Presenter (recommended): Shows can used our preferred name only should they wish to mark us as the presenter (i.e.: Mermaids Performing Arts Fund Presents).
